Leaf Coat Hook

Leaf Coat Hook

I’ve got an image of a dream house :)   It’s a detached three bedroom house set in the country- and it has the most beautiful interior with quirky additions here and there.  Maybe it’s just me, but this Leaf Shaped coat hook is really fantastic.  I know I’m weird and very dreamy (let’s face it- all I do is imagine what I’d like to have in a perfect life) but little additions to the home which mimick nature are just brilliant.
The website is called the Complete Home Company.  I don’t think they’re complete as such, but they do some really cool stuff I know I’d like to have in my perfect little country house :)

On the same website as the limited edition artwork, I also found some really cool wall mirrors.  They’re great for the house I’m in at the moment, but I’m also still thinking ahead to when I have my own place.  I love the ones pictures on the left.

Awesome Clock Designs- Karlsson Clocks

Karlsson Clocks- Very unique designs

Karlsson Clocks- Very unique designs

I think I’ve found the most amazing clock designs in the world- I might be getting myself a karlsson clock or two when I have my own home.   They’re so cool and original. And bold! Perfect.  The one pictured on the right is perfect! Really colourful and energetic.
On the home front, this may be getting closer than I thought because my boyfriend’s parents are going to get a house to rent out to people, and they said we could rent it if we like.  But I wanted to avoid renting completely and save money to just buy a house when we can.  I’m not sure what to do..
(And on the port selection front, his mum is going to buy it off me, so thats a relief!)

House buying and furnishings

October 14, 2008 at 9:52 am (Furnishings) (, , )

In these times of ‘economic crisis’, the only good thing that’s come out of it for me is the falling house prices.  Not long ago, getting a house with my boyfriend would have been completely out of the question.  But it seems just slightly out of reach now. A bit longer (maybe a year), and we might actually be able to get onto the property market.  But then there’s the issue of getting a mortgage- this could be impossible.  Argh! But it doesn’t stop me looking around places selling home furnishings, like Cargo.  I love Cargo.  They sell some of the most beautiful table and chair sets :)    In terms of bedroom furniture, I’m still eyeing up stuff from Better Furniture: Pine Bedroom Furniture and also John Lewis for bed linen and stuff.   I know I’m living in a dream world, but I can’t stop myself looking around for home furnishings.  I really want to find a house and decorate it with my partner.  But it’s no good if we can’t afford to live in it!

Contemporary Cushions

Kashmir cushions (contemporary)- Spotty cushion

Contemporary Cushions- Spotty cushion

I was looking around for some decent cushions for my bedroom.  I want ones that are bold and really stand out from anything else in the room.  It looks like the finalist will be the “home shop”, which sells contemporary cushions that look fantastic.  The page on the link explains loads of info about the cushions and how they’re made which is really interesting (they’re fairtrade). I really love this spotty cushion which is perfect for my room.
They also sell contemporary rugs, some of which you can match with the cushions, but they’re a bit out of my price range!
